HSBC were SYKE’s first HighQ client in 2019, and since then the relationship has grown from simple tech implementation to a strategic partnership; with SYKE team members embedded with HSBC to oversee the various ongoing projects.
Underused Technology
HSBC has over 1,200 legal professionals globally, split by region and by business line. This inevitably leads to variation in processes and approaches across teams, which can increase risk to the business.
As a result of this disparity, they had an implementation of HighQ which was used sporadically – only by certain teams and only being utilised for knowledge and template management.
HighQ Overhaul
The SYKE team worked to redesign some of the existing knowledge sites and helped to implement global hubs and systems to allow more automation of processes.
As part of this process, SYKE implemented a Global Legal Services Hub to make collaboration with panel law firms easier and created the Secondee system to harmonise a secondee request and allocation process and save considerable time.
Strategic Partnership
These successful projects have led to ongoing collaboration between SYKE and HSBC; with SYKE legal engineers embedded within HSBC Legal Team to manage projects internally.
New matter management systems are being built on an ongoing basis to provide team activity trackers and project management oversight. The team has also successfully built and delivered quick reaction sites, such as a new microsite for information about HSBC’s response to the global Covid-19 pandemic.
