Initial Team of 25 Legal Engineers With Ambitious Plans to Expand Further in 2021
SYKE is delighted to announce it has officially opened its doors in India with the establishment of a multi-disciplinary centre of excellence.
The team, which initially consists of 25 colleagues, is trained and certified in several leading CLM tools including Icertis, Thomson Reuters (Contract Express, HighQ, Tracker) and DocuSign Agreement Cloud, as well as having domain experience of other legal tech products and software solutions.
They bring with them a wealth of experience having previously worked for high-profile management consultancies in the region including Morae, Accenture and Elevate.
SYKE, which recently celebrated its fourth birthday, has grown rapidly and is now the world’s foremost independent legal tech consultancy, with 90+ engineers based across the globe.
The Indian entity becomes part of SYKE’s integrated global team, which boasts a depth of talent and sectoral knowledge.
Alistair Maiden, SYKE founder and CEO said: “I’m really proud to be expanding into India with a talented team of legal engineers who will add strength and depth to SYKE, while enabling us to follow the sun on behalf of our customers in EMEA, APAC or the Americas.”
COO and chief legal engineer Lewis Bretts added: “We have a track record of helping large, complex organisations choose, buy and implement Contract Lifecycle Management tools and other legal technologies. Often this involves automating documents and processes in multiple languages across various territories. With the addition of India to our portfolio of international bases, we now have expert teams across the globe who are fully trained in all the major tools and can be deployed quickly and in an agile way.”
Atul Arora, who is heading up the India team said: “The establishment of SYKE India means customers across the region have access to a team of legal tech experts on their doorstep. It also enables us to better serve SYKE customers across the globe by following the sun on fast turnaround projects.
We have created a multidisciplinary centre of excellence from day one, with a breadth of technical skills and contextual knowledge and experience. My team and I are ready to hit the ground running and help SYKE grow and succeed in 2021 and beyond.”
All of SYKE’s engineers typically have a legal background, so when implementing contract lifecycle management tools, or using AI and machine learning to extract contractual terms and metadata from documents, understand the context of what they are automating, not just the power of the software. This blended expertise ensures SYKE-assisted implementations deliver ROI from day one.
